7 Reasons Why STEVE BOYLE PHOTO is Better in 2010
January 18th, 2010 | Published in Business, Philadelphia
1. New Location – Currently in a stunning loft-style space in downtown Philadelphia. The location functions as an office and mini studio as well as living quarters and home to many delicious meals.
2. First Employee – I hired my first employee / intern to help me around the office about 1 day per week. I’ve been much more productive lately and am able to tackle those projects that have been on my to do list for months.
3. Working In Silence – I recently purchased a custom made Jacobsen Sound Blimp to be able to operate my camera without making a noise. This is required to work on any movie, film, documentary, commercial or video production set. Translation – because of some expensive custom equipment that I own, I’m more marketable to more clients.
4. New Blog – The old blog was located at blog.steveboylephoto.com and this is the new blog at www.thephiladelphiaphotographer.com. I hope to have the blog moved to www.steveboylephoto.com/blog by the end of the year.
5. International – I’ve never done photography internationally, except when I studied in London, because my philosophy used to be that vacation is vacation from everything including photography. February brings a week in Belize which I’m packing some gear and doing my best to make some amazing images.
6. Sports – I am back on the sports scene, playing the sports I have loved all of my life. After completing a marathon in 2009, I am in shape to play soccer again for the first time in 10 years. Also on the roster of sports for 2010 are softball, adventure racing, rock climbing and possibly another marathon. The only way to relate to athletes is to be an athlete.
7. Expanding – In efforts to become more connected in the city of Philadelphia, I’ve begun branching out on the type of work that I’m shooting. Currently, I’m working with the staff of PhillyIn on their bios and featured profiles of prominent Philadelphians. Their group portrait is below. Are you in?
